Bikepolo is a team sport. There are two teams each consisting of 3 athletes. The aim of bikepolo is to shoot a plastic ball with a mallet into the goal of the opponents’ team.
A polo player needs to have a very good control over his bike, hand-eye coordination and perfect team skills.

At Fixed Days players from all over Europe will play casual games on Saturday and Sunday. It is also possible for Fahrradschau visitors to give it a try. Extra bikes and other useful gear will be present at the bike polo court, inside the Berliner Fahrradschau.

– What you need for playing bikepolo:

• plastic ball
• a bicycle (singlespeed with a low gear, breaks and sturdy bike components)
• plus your bicycle should be free of sharp edges.
• protective clothing: knee and elbow guards, helmet, gloves

– Rules

2. It’s forbidden to support your balance with a foot on the ground. Whenever a player touches the ground with his feet then he is required to ride to one of the “tap out” spots, which are located at the right and left border in the center part of of the court.

3. Similar to ice hockey, bikepolo is a contact sport, but with certain limits, e.g.it’s allowed for an athlete on his bike riding on collision course against an rival athlete.

4.The mallet has a cylindric top, a valid goal must be shoot with the top or bottom of the cylinder. In case the ball is shoot with the long side the goal isn’t valid, it’s called „shuffle“.
